LÖGDE river

THE RESTORATION IS FINISHED

LÖGDE RIVER HAS ITS ORIGIN IN LAKE GRANSJÖN, AN AREA WHICH CONSISTS OF A LARGE MIRE-AND FOREST COMPLEX.

THE TOP PARTS OF THE RIVER ARE CHARACTERIZED BY BEING RELATIVELY FLAT. THE CHARACTER OF THE RIVER CHANGES AFTER ONLY A FEW KILOMETERS, WHERE THE RIVER GROWS WIDER WITH ADDITIONS FROM SURROUNDING FLOWS. THEREAFTER, IT GETS THE CHARACTER OF A WILD UNBREAKED FOREST RIVER WITH RUSHING RAPIDS AND HIGH FALLS.

THE EASY-ERODED GROUND MADE THE RIVER DIG DEEP INTO THE GROUND, WITH HIGH, SANDY SLOPES RISING ALONG THE SIDES OF THE RIVER.

THE LAST KILOMETERS ARE RELATIVELY SLOW-FLOWING AND THE RIVER HAS FALLEN 526 METRES FROM LAKE GRANSJÖN  BEFORE IT EMPTIES IN THE SEA.
