Otter (Lutra lutra)

THE OTTER IS A LONG AND LIMBER ANIMAL WITH SHORT LEGS, WIDE HEAD AND A LONG, MUSCULUS TAIL. IT HAS A BODY LENGTH OF 50-100 CENTIMETERS AND WEIGHS BETWEEN 3-11 KILOGRAMS. MALES GETS HEAVIER THAN FEMALES. THE OTTER IS STRONGLY ADAPTED FOR A LIFE IN WATER, WITH WEBBING BETWEEN ITS TOES AND CLOSABLE NOSTRILS AND EAR OPENINGS DURING DIVING. THE FUR IS LIGHT BROWN WITH A LIGHTER, ALMOST WHITE CHEST.
